- Mission statement
- To see that Ethiopian women’s access to, use of and control over land is equal to that of men.
- General objectives
- To engage in advocacy to ensure the formulation and implementation of policies that give equal access to, use of and control over land to women;
- To work towards the elimination of harmful traditional attitudes and practices that hinder the implementation of policies on the right of land to women.
- Specific objectives
- To ensure that existing policies and laws are improved and new policies and laws are formulated to give women access to, use of and control over land within five years;
- To establish coordination between the government and civil society organisations engaged in issues relevant to women’s land rights;
- To sensitise 25 per cent of relevant people on policies related to land issues in general and women’s land rights in particular within two years.
- To build capacity to enable at least 50 per cent of landless Ethiopian women to acquire land within ten years;
- To minimise harmful traditional attitudes and practices hinder women’s land rights within ten years.
