Content Resources

This archive exists because of the organizing, community management, and digital labor of African feminist activists who created and sustained these movements. The collections are presented here in activists’ own words, foregrounding their narratives, experiences, and knowledge as the primary sources of authority.
Every reflection, image, tweet, and analysis in this archive represents countless hours of organizing. This work has not only changed conversations in the moment but continues to inspire and inform new generations of activists.
The African Feminist Archive makes no claim to ownership of these movements. Rather, this project is a work of memory, guided by the activists themselves in determining how their work should be preserved, contextualized, and shared. We acknowledge that this documentation can never fully capture the lived experiences behind these hashtags, but it is a testimony to the power and persistence of African feminist organizing.
