Dory

Dory measures about 2 inches long.

My object is a small 3D model of a fish named Dory from the Disney/Pixar movies Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. Dory is a fun, bubbly, lovable character.

Dory is about 1.5 inches tall.

The Dory model seems to be a toy or just a figurine. The paint is worn down in some parts suggesting that it has been used.

“Copyright Disney/Pixar BANDAI 2015 MADE IN CHINA #36361 97192215” is printed on the object.

The text printed on the side of the model led me to look up Disney and Pixar as two of my sources. While these American companies who make movies are very kid friendly, they also can be for an older audience.

Finding Dory movie

The movie Finding Dory, made in 2016, was one of my sources; the movie is a sequel to the movie Finding Nemo and tells more about the life of a character, Dory, from the first movie.

Finding Nemo movie

Finding Nemo, made in 2003, was a big success; it was a very popular movie that is a part of a lot of America’s youths’ childhoods. This suggests that the Dory toy is likely a memento from one’s childhood.
