I identified my object as an awareness wristband, a bracelet of various colors used to promote a brand name, charitable cause, or for remembrance. Silicone wristbands are often seen in business branding, fundraising, school events, and concerts.

The bracelet fits comfortably around an adult’s wrist. It appears to stand out in comparison to an everyday, neutral apparel, as if to advertise one’s social contributions made.

circumference of bracelet was measured using string

Method used to measure the circumference of the bracelet

In order to measure the circumference, a string of known length was used to encase the bracelet, and the remaining length of the string was subtracted. The circumference measures to be 19.5 cm.

“Love Your Melon” utilizes typography to situate their brand in context of their purpose. Specifically, the phrase uses various, fun fonts that appear to emphasize the subject of the charity, the children, and a heart emoticon to show the organization’s and the owner’s support for battling childhood cancer.
