Study Background
The Assessment of Rhythms in Sleep and the Environment (ARISE) research study aims to understand socio-environmental factors affecting sleep and cardiovascular health in African Americans. This 14-day study involves one clinic visit and several home visits to measure air quality, light exposure, noise levels, sleep, and cardiovascular health.





Eligibility:
Individuals must meet the following requirements to participate in the ARISE research study:
○ Black or African American
○ 18-65 years old
○ Living in or near Atlanta area
Individuals are not eligible to participate in the ARISE research study if any of these apply to them:
○ Pregnant
○ Non-English speaker
○ A shift worker (works outside 9am-5pm schedule)
○ Have a history of substance abuse, chronic kidney disease, and/or HIV/AIDS
