Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library<\/span><span class=\"author-235170896 font-color-212121 font-size-medium\">\u00a0will host the symposium <em>Blacks on the Left<\/em>, an interdisciplinary exploration of the role of radical politics in African American life and culture.<\/span><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"ace-line\"><span class=\"author-235170896 font-size-medium\">The Rose Library is home to one of the world\u2019s premier archives of African American history and culture. For 21 years we have documented hundreds of individuals and organizations, resulting in the preservation of over 5,000 linear feet of manuscripts and 13,000 print titles.<\/span><span class=\"author-206913780 font-color-000000 font-size-medium\"> One of the strengths of our collection is documentation of the depth and breadth of black political expression in the United States, ranging from early anti-slavery efforts to modern LGBTQ activism.<\/span><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"ace-line\"><span class=\"author-235170896 font-size-medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-327\" src=\"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/blacksontheft\/files\/2019\/03\/Letters-from-Langston-203x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"203\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/blacksontheft\/files\/2019\/03\/Letters-from-Langston-203x300.jpg 203w, https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/blacksontheft\/files\/2019\/03\/Letters-from-Langston.jpg 675w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 203px) 100vw, 203px\" \/>Included in our holdings are the papers of <a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/8zr8k\">Louise Thompson Patterson (1901-1999)<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/pid.emory.edu\/ark:\/25593\/8z5b3\">Matt (1903-1996) and Evelyn Crawford (1899-1972)<\/a><\/span><span class=\"author-206913780 font-color-000000 font-size-medium\">.
