I am a disease ecologist and public health scientist\u00a0studying the spatial dynamics\u00a0of infectious diseases passed from animals to humans. I am a PhD candidate\u00a0in the Environmental Health Sciences<\/a> department\u00a0at Emory University<\/a> and my dissertation research is on the spatial determinants of\u00a0Yersinia pestis<\/em>, the bacteria that causes the plague.\u00a0My research <\/a>aims\u00a0to\u00a0improve\u00a0disease surveillance techniques by accounting for surveillance bias and imperfect detection of cases.<\/p>\n
