{"id":280,"date":"2017-07-21T14:56:25","date_gmt":"2017-07-21T14:56:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/buller\/?p=280"},"modified":"2018-05-21T22:19:11","modified_gmt":"2018-05-21T22:19:11","slug":"cdcncar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/buller\/2017\/07\/21\/cdcncar\/","title":{"rendered":"CDC\/NCAR Workshop on Weather, Climate and Health 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I returned to Colorado less than a month after the <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/buller\/2017\/06\/17\/ncar-graduate-workshop-on-environmental-data-analytics\/\">National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Graduate Workshop on Environmental Data Analytics<\/a>\u00a0to attend the joint Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)\/NCAR <a href=\"https:\/\/ral.ucar.edu\/events\/2017\/ncarcdc-workshop-weather-climate-health\">Workshop on Weather, Climate and Health<\/a>. This was an impressive group of scientists in the Climate &amp; Health field discussing new findings and future challenges. NCAR scientists Drs. Andrew Monaghan and Mary Hayden were especially supportive of my work with\u00a0<em>Yersinia\u00a0<\/em><em>pestis<\/em> and provided insight from their plague research in East Africa.
