We are not simply using tools because we can. If adding a digital tool isn&#8217;t helpful for your style of pedagogy, don&#8217;t feel like you have to restructure how you teach in order to use it! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online whiteboards are helpful additions to a classroom for brainstorming, breakout sessions, online collaboration and student contribution, and for presentations. Whiteboard can be added to any lecture or presentation, in any mode of delivery, anytime you want to engage your students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"whiteboards-jump\">Feel free to <a href=\"#using-collaborative-whiteboards\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#using-collaborative-whiteboards\">scroll down<\/a> for helpful presentation and workshop by the Office of Digital Learning at Candler School of Theology called &#8220;Better Whiteboards.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"1-zoom-whiteboard\">1) Zoom Whiteboard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Do you want to collaborate without leaving the Zoom room?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Built into the Zoom platform, there is a whiteboard feature when sharing your screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"488\" src=\"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/candlerdigitallearning\/files\/2022\/02\/Zoom_SharingWhiteboard-1-1024x488.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/candlerdigitallearning\/files\/2022\/02\/Zoom_SharingWhiteboard-1-1024x488.png 1024w, https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/candlerdigitallearning\/files\/2022\/02\/Zoom_SharingWhiteboard-1-300x143.png 300w, https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/candlerdigitallearning\/files\/2022\/02\/Zoom_SharingWhiteboard-1-768x366.png 768w, https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/candlerdigitallearning\/files\/2022\/02\/Zoom_SharingWhiteboard-1.png 1040w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>By following the directions in the image above, you will share with the participants a blank white screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, you will need to instruct where to find the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/115005706806-Using-annotation-tools-for-collaboration\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/115005706806-Using-annotation-tools-for-collaboration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">annotation function<\/a>. It is accessible via an app or online using a link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the students, there is no sign up needed in order to access the shared board. It can also be used to liven a lecture by gathering feedback via the rank voting &#8220;up and down&#8221; system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants engage each board by creating various boxes.
