Contac Us

A new research specialist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Charles Cho, within the Division of Digestive Diseases at Emory University School of Medicine. We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to contribute to our investigations in the following research areas:
1. The mechanisms of changes in ribosomes and translation in mouse models in the context of acinar-to-ductal metaplasia (ADM), pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PanIN), and pancreatic ductal
adenocarcinoma (PDAC).
2. The role of ribosome-clamping proteins, such as IFRD1 and IFRD2, in vivo and in culture systems.
3. Development of a primary pancreatic acinar cell culture model that mimics and enriches pancreatic acinar cell differentiation versus proliferation.
4. Application of these findings to patient samples from chronic pancreatitis, PanIN or PDAC.

Our research hypotheses are addressed using integrated animal models (Mus musculus), ex vivo culture systems, and a combination of genetic, biochemical, and histological techniques.

Preferred Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in the following areas:
• Mouse husbandry and genotyping.
• Histological techniques, including tissue sectioning, cryosectioning, H&E staining, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF).
• Routine biochemical laboratory skills, such as Western blotting, quantitative PCR, cloning, imaging, flow cytometry, and cell culture.
