A Phoenix dies and is reborn by rising from the ashes. I feel that often times we are constricted by our “old self” or our own identity. Sometimes our own identity restricts the way we are able to express ourselves. By choosing the name “thePHOENIX,” I can let go of all the restrictions and “rise from the ashes.” I can be reborn as a writer and express ideas that I otherwise wouldn’t be free to express. Therefore, by comparing myself to a Phoenix, I will be able to write freely and express my views without any restrictions or limitations.
