The Urvashi Vaid LGBTQ+ Women’s Survey transforms a community-centered project into a dynamic, data-driven tool for advancing social justice.

Registration is automatically approved for members of the survey’s partner organizations upon submittal of Request Access form. Indicate your organizational affiliation in the “Intended Use of Data” section and provide your organizational email address on the form. Indicate your “Requested Data Type” as “Data Portal for Community Purposes”.

To become a community partner, please describe your intended use of data in the entry below in 500-words or less and indicate your Requested Data Type as “Apply to Become Community Partner”.

To access the data portal you must be a partner organization. This is for security reasons to protect our data and in recognition of the contribution partner organizations have made to the success of this project. Check to see if your organization is listed on the LGBTQ Women Survey Page. Please provide your name, organization, organizational email, and intended use of the data. You may apply to become a community member for use of the data for community purposes. by using this form, providing some additional details and waiting to be approved for access.

• Registration is available by application through the website only.
• Access to the data is granted to the named individuals only. You may not share registration details with unregistered users.
• We encourage the use of the data for the development of resources, tools, academic papers, data visualization, presentations, advocacy documents, opinion pieces, and other similar materials.
• Registered users can co-author or co-produce with any person, but at least one of the authors / producers listed must be a registered user who has agreed to the data portal terms and conditions. You may only share the data with an unregistered user when actively collaborating on a specific project.
• ​​Registered users may never sell the data to any person or organization.
• Copies of all products produced with this data should be shared with the Critical Racism Data Lab at Emory (critical dot racism dot data dot lab at emory dot edu) with the Subject Line “Urvashi Vaid LGBTQ Women Survey”
• NO WARRANTIES OR LIABILITY
• In no event shall Justice Work, the Critical Racism Data Lab, Emory University (institutions) or Study Team members (individuals) be liable to any entity or person for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, arising out of the use of this Data, even if Institution has been advised of the possibility of such damage, in whole or in sum.

Access to Respondent Data

Respondent data for the Urvashi Vaid LGBTQ Women’s Survey is sensitive and subject to identification. As such, additional IRB protocols are in place to secure responsible use of data on survey respondents, including: 1) registration as a community partner, 2) acceptance of terms and conditions for community purposes, and 3) additional information concerning the intended use of respondent data using the Request Access to Restricted Data.

Respondent data is available for research purposes by registered community members with IRB-approval for use of both highly sensitive data and de-identified data who have been approved for access to restricted data for community purposes.
