Books

Books sit at the heart of the Raymond Danowski Poetry Library. But what exactly is a book? Perfect bound or stapled, letterpress printed or mimeographed, a simple folded piece of paper or an illuminated unique book, the 75,000 volumes found in the Library may range in size but all prove important to understanding the course of writing and printing in 20th century. Thought to be the largest library in private hands until coming to Emory, the Danowski Poetry Library strives to be the library of record for the twentieth century.

Nearly 50,000 of the volumes are already catalogued and can be searched here.
Please contact the Rose Library for queries about as-yet-uncatalogued items, which are also available for research.
