Instructure will release updates to our Canvas environment Saturday, April 18, 2020. Instructure has also announced that notifications via SMS, except for Announcements and Grading, will be discontinued on May 2, 2020.  Click here to view planned changes. Highlights of the April 18 release are:

  • Students and teachers can now mute notifications for a course from the notifications button on the course home page. Instructure plans to add specific notification controls at the course level in the future.
  • Teachers can access the course rubrics list from the Rubrics link in the navigation menu instead of the Manage Rubrics button on the Outcomes page (which has been removed).
  • Teachers and other graders have a link to SpeedGrader in assignment column menus in the Gradebook.
  • Teachers using New Quizzes may choose whether multiple answer questions give partial credit with penalty if a student selects an incorrect response (default) or only full credit for exact match.

Production feature releases arrive on the third Saturday of each month. Click here to view release notes on Canvas Community. Instructure also lists noteworthy changes planned for future releases.
