Emory University, 2017<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif\">My interest in biophysical chemistry has lead me to work on the protein folding project in the Dyer lab. Specifically, I have been engaged in research interrogating the pH dependent peptide-membrane interaction of the influenza A hemagglutinin fusion peptide. The ultimate goal of this project is to understand the dynamics that govern the assembly of the influenza viral fusion pore, an entity that is generated from a specific interaction between the hemagglutinin transmembrane domain and fusion peptide, and critical to the propagation of the influenza virus.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif\">Outside the lab I enjoy cooking and exploring different restaurants around Atlanta and Decatur with friends.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>alexia.marie.prokopik@emory.edu Group Member Since 2017 B.S.
