{"id":5598,"date":"2024-05-08T14:47:27","date_gmt":"2024-05-08T18:47:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/ecds\/?p=5598"},"modified":"2024-05-08T14:47:27","modified_gmt":"2024-05-08T18:47:27","slug":"intarsia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/ecds\/intarsia\/","title":{"rendered":"Launch: Intarsia &#8211;  Undergraduate Journal of Queer and Feminist Inquiry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Spring 2024, undergraduates in Emory College launched a new research journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intarsiajournal.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">Intarsia: Undergraduate Journal of Queer and Feminist Inquiry<\/i><\/a>. This is a student-led, peer-reviewed, open-access, national journal established to promote critical engagement with queer and feminist theory at the undergraduate level. It has been published with the support of Emory\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/wgss.emory.edu\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Women\u2019s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ecds.emory.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emory\u2019s Center for Digital Scholarship<\/a>, and a faculty and graduate student advisory board. The inaugural issue was led by Braden White (class of 2024) and Olivia Gilbert (class of 2026).<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural issue includes articles by undergraduates from Bryn Mawr and Northwestern University on Daphne du Maurier\u2019s\u00a0<i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">Rebecca<\/i>, Jean Genet\u2019s\u00a0<i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">The Screens<\/i>, and lesbian ghosts in a nineteenth-century short story and the TV show\u00a0<i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">Black Mirror<\/i>. A second issue of Intarsia will be published in 2024-2025 and submissions for that issue are open until October 1 2024.
