We\u2019re excited to announce the latest release of <\/span>Readux<\/span><\/a>, a reading and annotation platform for books digitized at Emory. When you login you can <\/span>create annotations<\/span><\/a> attached to selected text or areas of a page and now you can <\/span>easily export<\/span> your annotated edition as a static website. <\/span><\/p>\n

An <\/span>open-source application<\/span><\/a> originally designed to make collections more visible, Readux continues to expand its features including faceted searches, easy integration with text analysis tools, and annotations that can include formatted text, embedded images, and tags. The export feature packages a book\u2019s pages and text with your annotations and generates a customizable website suitable for publishing critical editions. It\u2019s also ideal for shorter term projects such as classroom assignments since the website can be sent directly to the freely-hosted <\/span>GitHub Pages<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Readux is in active development as we add features to the annotation environment. If you try it out, please feel free to <\/span>contact us<\/span><\/a> with feedback!<\/span><\/p>\n
