Applicants are required to complete a full application, which includes submitting a letter of recommendation, résumé, academic transcript, and a personal statement outlining their research interests and career goals. All materials should be collected and ready before beginning the application process.
Students will be ranked and selected based on the following criteria:
- United States Citizenship or Permanent Residency (valid green card),
- Identification within an underrepresented ethnic minority group in the biomedical sciences (e.g., Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander),
- Interest in pursuing a career in psychological research, including why they would like to participate in the program,
- Strong academic record that is competitive for a PhD program (e.g., GPA ≥ 3.0 and some experience in formal coursework in psychology), and
- From an institution that does not have a psychological PhD program.
Preference will also be given to juniors with an interest in pursuing graduate education within the next 1-2 years.
