Materials for historians come out of multiple library funds. Journals and approval books–books come in automatically based on a series of parameters that we give to our book supplier–and journals come from a general library fund. Large database purchases also come out of a shared fund.
In addition to these overarching funds, selectors also have subject-specific budgets to acquire specialized materials or books that do not come in via our approval plan.
In FY2019, the Woodruff Library’s overall collection budget increased by approximately 7%.
