Chira&#8217;s first book, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/books\/patchwork-freedoms\/3AC55294D9810C81B94BAB0F46DE9545#:~:text=Law%2C%20Slavery%2C%20and%20Race%20beyond%20Cuba's%20Plantations&amp;text=Drawing%20on%20understudied%20archives%2C%20this,about%20nineteenth%2Dcentury%20Black%20freedom.\">Patchwork Freedoms: Law, Slavery, and Race Beyond Cuba&#8217;s Plantations<\/a><\/em>, was published by Cambridge earlier this year.
