The NISS grant will support research for Webster&#8217;s dissertation, titled &#8220;Fluid Empires: Histories of Environment and Sovereignty in southern Africa, 1750-1900.\u201d History department faculty members\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/history.emory.edu\/home\/people\/faculty\/crais-clifton.html\">Clifton Crais<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/history.emory.edu\/home\/people\/faculty\/candido-mariana.html\">Mariana P. Candido<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/history.emory.edu\/home\/people\/faculty\/yannakakis-yanna.html\">Yanna Yannakakis<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/history.emory.edu\/home\/people\/faculty\/rogers-thomas.html\">Thomas D. Rogers<\/a> serve as advisors for Webster&#8217;s dissertation.
