Simon O’Riordan (pronounced oh-REAR-den) is the newest Emory Center for Digital Scholarship Library Fellow, where he will be attending to the data management needs of Emory faculty and students and managing data deposits. During the summer he worked in the University of California-San Diego’s curation program.

Simon came to Emory from UNC-Chapel Hill, where he received his master’s degree in library science. He also has a master’s degree in history from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. He received a double bachelor’s degree in history and theology from Seattle University.

Born in San Diego, CA, Simon enjoys playing soccer, where he is a defensive midfielder and sometimes center back fielder, and is also an Ultimate Frisbee player.

“Emory looked like an interesting opportunity to do data preservation, data management, and handle curation issues,” said Simon. “I am excited to begin working at Emory.”
