Project Manager for Multi-Site Study (CSP #595), ERIC

The Seattle Epidemiologic Research and Information Center (ERIC), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is recruiting a full-time Project Manager for the CSP #595: Service and Health Among Deployed Veterans (SHADE) Study. The Seattle ERIC is based at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System and is an epidemiologic research center in the national Cooperative Studies Program (CSP) of the VA Office of Research and Development (ORD) (https://www.research.va.gov/programs/csp/).

Under the supervision of the Program Manager at the CSP #595 Coordinating Center, the Project Manager will oversee major aspects of the management of the CSP #595 Study as delegated by the Program Manager. Primary and shared responsibilities will be assigned based on the qualifications and skills of the Project Manager. The Project Manager will also serve as the manager of 2 CSP #595 sites and, in collaboration with the CSP #595 Local Site Investigator, will manage the execution of the CSP #595 Study protocol.

Responsibilities and duties include the following:

· Manage all aspects of the CSP #595 Study when the Project Manager is unavailable.

· Manage the daily operations of the CSP #595 Study including possible supervision of 1 or more Coordinating Center staff.

· Manage the daily operations of the 2 CSP #595 sites (Seattle and American Lake) in the VA Puget Sound Health Care System and assure success of the site to recruit and collect research data from study participants.

· Manage the development, maintenance, and operations of the CSP #595 Data and Biospecimens Repositories.

· Manage the regulatory compliance of the CSP #595 Study and the CSP #595 Data and Biospecimens Repositories.

· Manage the meta-data and documentation of data in the CSP #595 Study and the CSP #595 Data and Biospecimens Repositories.

· Liaise with the CSP Biospecimens Repository in Boston for the deposition and retrieval of specimens from the Repository.

· Liaise with VA and non-VA investigators interested in using the resource and serve as the primary contact for investigators when using the Repositories.

· Hire, train, and supervise CSP #595 site staff coordinating research and administrative activities, ensuring all projects are completed according to project/study timelines.

· Manage and coordinate site-specific activities as required in coordination with the Local Site Investigator and the Program Manager.

· Track study progress and ensure timely completion of communications with the coordinating center.

Qualifications:

· Bachelors degree in a scientific research-related field. Masters-level degree in a scientific research-related field preferred.

· At least 5 years of experience coordinating epidemiologic data collection. Experience with biorepositories preferred.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens. Education and experience will be evaluated by Human Resources to determine if the top candidate meets the criteria for the GS-11 level. The General Schedule salary table for Seattle can be found on the Office of Personnel Management website at opm.gov.
