{"id":73960,"date":"2021-09-26T10:43:24","date_gmt":"2021-09-26T14:43:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/epi\/?p=73960"},"modified":"2021-09-26T11:29:59","modified_gmt":"2021-09-26T15:29:59","slug":"grasp-orise-fellowship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scholarblogs.emory.edu\/epi\/alumni\/grasp-orise-fellowship-program","title":{"rendered":"GRASP ORISE Fellowship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The GRASP ORISE Fellowship Program is hosted by the Geospatial Research Analysis, and Services Program (GRASP), Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) \/ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in partnership with Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE).<\/p>\n<p><em>Fellowship Details:<\/em> Rapid Response and Emergency Preparedness<\/p>\n<p>The ORISE Fellowship is a one-year, full time fellowship. The Fellow will:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Collaborate with the multidisciplinary GRASP staff, contribute to spatial public health projects, and have opportunities to access GRASP training.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Expand their knowledge in the use of GIS and public health methods, software, tools, and data.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Produce maps, develop GIS analyses, and contribute to research that enables CDC\/ATSDR to better understand geospatial factors relevant to public health emergency responses as part of the Rapid Response and Emergency Preparedness Support (RREPS) Team within GRASP.<\/p>\n<p><em>Possible project areas:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Domestic: projects supporting COVID-19 response, hurricane response, etc.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 International: projects supporting the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Ebola response, COVID-19 response, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualification &amp; Application Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Eligibility:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Recent graduates or current undergraduate-, master-, or doctoral-level students with less than 4 years since graduation date.<\/p>\n<p><em>Qualifications:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Education \u2013 degree or coursework in geography, GIS, public health, or computer science.<\/p>\n<p>Required Skills \u2013 experience or competency with ArcGIS Pro or Desktop.<\/p>\n<p>Preferred Skills \u2013 experience or competency with one or more of the following: ArcGIS Online, QGIS, R, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, SQL.<\/p>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications \u2013 foreign language proficiency, professional or academic experience with one or more of the following: public health, emergency response, international work.<\/p>\n<p>To apply: If interested, please email <strong>Adonica Scott (<a href=\"javascript:secureDecryptAndNavigate('1y1TS3QYwqq6yKXEbXlX3OkbIJZuMKlqY8TXpzcjVpoyZSIPxsE8iKPDAS4xUjcfkPGzP7bDrityQufMnvzx2qhUgg==', '5c2142bd695f78df0e027d1fbf90b918fab4a8c1be22ee51de09659e5e5cc477')\">RWQ1 [at] cdc [dot] gov<\/a>)<\/strong> using \u201cGRASP RREPS ORISE\u201d in subject line.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About GRASP, CDC\/ATSDR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For nearly 30 years, GRASP has led the application of geography in public health to prevent disease, prolong life, and promote health.
