Film and Media Professor’s Film Nominated for Best Documentary at Odense International Film Festival

In May of this year, James Pellerito’s short film, I Wanted to Hear Your Voice screened for its World Premiere in the prestigious documentary film festival, Hot Docs in Toronto Canada. The film’s exhibition success continues and on a greater scale.  This fall, Pellerito’s film will have its European Premiere at the 50th Odense International Film Festival in Denmark. Not only was the film selected as one of 163 films from 3,740 submissions, but the film is nominated for Best Documentary. This nomination is especially important because the OIFF is an Academy-qualifying film festival.

We are thrilled to celebrate Professor Pellerito’s achievement, which he shares with other Emory Film & Media Department people who collaborated on the film, including Professor David Barba (producer and editor), staff member Mardy Beeson(sound), and former students Daniel Cooley (sound) and Ethan Wesselkamper (production manager).
