In November, Film and Media students Cami Yanes (’28) and Tyler Lee (’27) launched a new club: Year 0 Cinéma Club, an organization dedicated to the celebration of film. For decades, Emory TV (ETV) has been the sole official Emory student film club. As a production house for student films, ETV provides a community geared towards the creative and business components of the industry. Yanes and Lee sought a different kind of community. They hungered for a space where they could share their passion for movies, so they decided to create their own. The result is Year 0 Cinéma. The club welcomes casual film buffs and hardcore cinephiles alike to take part in hearty discussions on movies, holding biweekly meetings and hosting special screening events. They plan on presenting guest lectures and publishing a digital magazine as their community grows. Follow Year 0 on instagram here.
