Sound Designer Udit Duseja Visits Emory Film & Media

Tom Dixon, our Department’s Visiting Arts Fellow teaches sound production, and on Tuesday November 18th, in his class “Sound Design for Film”, he hosted special guest, Udit Duseja, a London-based sound designer & composer.

Udit was invited to visit the course because of the outstanding breadth and depth of his work in film sound and his expertise across all aspects of the film sound process, from location sound recording to sound design and music composition to multichannel mixing. Udit gave students an inside look into his recent work on the feature film Salvable and the short documentary The Cat Man Esthete, as well as his collaborations with John Akomfrah on the 2024 Venice Biennale installation Listening All Night To The Rain and with Garrett Bradley on the acclaimed short film America.

Udit Duseja is a sound designer & composer based in London. Exploring the intersection of sound & music, he creates sonic experiences across genres & forms, working with filmmakers and artists from all over the world on narrative features, shorts, multi-channel film installations, animations, and documentaries. His practice is a continual investigation into sound as a form of cinematic expression; with each project he seeks to find ways to construct a sonic language, transforming audiences’ subconscious narratives and creating immersive experiences. Udit is an alumna of Berlinale Talents 2025 and a member of European Film Academy, BAFTA Connect, AMPS and the Motion Picture Sound Editors guild.
