Refreshing New York Times access for Emory faculty and staff

Did you know that faculty and staff free academic “pass” for access to The New York Times expires after 4 years?  If you log in and see a pop-up: you’re currently subscribed to Cooking and Wirecutter” and you need to upgrade for pay to get news” that means you need to refresh your account.

The good news, it is very easy to reset your access for another 4 years.

Follow these steps:

    1. Go to https://libraries.emory.edu/business/research-learning/databases/new-york-times-nytimescom and click the blue Login with Net ID button.
    2. Once authenticated, you will be brought to “Welcome to The New York Times” (image 1).
    3. Click Log In and enter the emory.edu email you registered with; you will also be prompted for your password.
    4. You should now have full access to the NYTimes.
    5. Email edu [at] nytimes [dot] com or gbsaskalibrarian [at] emory [dot] edu if you run into any problems.
    6. Once you have completed these steps, you will be brought to a page (image 2) which validates your expiration date.
