    Full-text articles from the Harvard Business Review are available through\u202f<\/span>Business Source Complete<\/span><\/a>, dating back to 1922. However, each year, Harvard places a download\/print block on approximately 500 of the most frequently requested articles. If you are interested in one of those particular articles, you will have to read it in the browser or locate the physical copy of the HBR issue in the Woodruff Library stacks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    To find HBR articles in Business Source Complete:<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    1) Search for \u201cHarvard Business Review\u201d using the \u201cPublication Name-SO\u201d field. You can further refine your search by using filters, such as Title\/Abstract, Author or Date.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Harvard Business Review Digital Articles are\u202f<\/span>NOT<\/span><\/b>\u202fincluded in the bi-monthly print HBR magazine and therefore, may not show up when you conduct the above search. However, the content is still published by HBR and could be valuable to your research.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      To locate digital HBR articles:<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      1) Search for \u201cHarvard Business Review Digital Articles\u201d using the \u201cPublication Name-SO\u201d field. You can further refine your search by using filters, such as Title\/Abstract, Author or Date.<\/span><\/p>\n

      1. Harvard Business Review Magazine Case Studies (Short, Fictitious Companies)<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        The Harvard Business Review magazine includes short (3-5pp.), less detailed and less-in-depth cases about fictitious companies. These are <\/span>NOT <\/span><\/b>the same or substitutes for the Harvard Business School Case Studies your faculty assigned as required course reading. Find more about these below.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        To locate HBR magazine case studies:<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        1) Search for \u201cHarvard Business Review\u201d using the \u201cPublication Name-SO\u201d field; 2) Select \u201cCase Study\u201d in the Document Type filter. Do not use the Publication Type filter. You can further refine your search by using filters, such as Title\/Abstract, Author or Date.<\/span><\/p>\n

        1. Harvard Business School (HBS) Case Studies (Long, Real Companies)<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          HBS\u2019s case studies are individual publications, completely different from the brief case study articles included in the HBR magazine, described above. These are the case studies that your faculty assign as required class readings, what people think of when referencing Harvard Business Cases.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          HBS Publishing does not license these case studies to libraries<\/span><\/i>. Rather, they are licensed exclusively through Study.net, a required platform for accessing Harvard Business content for academic teaching purposes. In addition to its HBS Case Studies, Harvard requires that all Harvard Business content, including HBR articles, book chapters, etc. that are required course readings, must be accessed via Study.net.\u00a0 <\/span>For example, if you bypass Study.net to access an HBR article that is a required course reading from Business Source Complete, you are infringing on Harvard\u2019s copyright and violating Emory\u2019s licensing agreement with Harvard.\u00a0<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
