The Halle Institute for Global Research has four open grant opportunities for faculty with upcoming application deadlines. Please review the grant summaries below and link to our website for more details.

We encourage globally focused proposals from researchers in every school and discipline to apply. As always, please reach out to us with any questions. 

Additionally, Halle is happy to announce new student opportunities including the return of the Graduate Global Research Fellowship and the launch of the Global Student Travel Support initiative. We are also inviting all global researchers to share their best photos from the international research field.

“Global Perspectives on Race+, Ethnicity+, and Nation+” is a new grant offered by the Halle Institute for Global Research. Full-time, continuing, regular faculty from any of Emory’s nine schools are eligible to apply as Primary Investigators for innovative research  projects from any disciplinary, interdisciplinary, or multi-disciplinary perspective. Student participation is encouraged but not required.

The Halle Institute for Global Research offers nine different Collaborative Research Grants, open to regular, continuing full-time faculty in all schools and disciplines. Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals for innovative collaborative research projects linking with faculty from one of our partner universities. The research may take place in any country or region as long as it is done collaboratively. Upon request, the Halle Institute will offer help creating connections with potential collaborators. Project outcomes may include publications, external funding, and/or other forms of research-based activity

The Halle Institute for Global Research will offer up to twelve fellowships to support research outside the United States for LGS PhD students in the pre-candidacy stage. The program includes four research and grant related workshop sessions, in addition to the international research portion of the fellowship, organized by the Halle Institute for Global Research. This program is offered in collaboration with Emory partners:  LGS, FCHI, CFDE, ECDS and GSI.
