Al-Badeel
Al-badeel, which means “Alternative” in Arabic, is a broad-based coalition of grassroots organisations and individual activists who seek to provide Arab society with an alternative to the traditional code of honour that governs and greatly restricts women�s and girls� behaviour in this patriarchal culture. The Albadeel coalition focuses on the issue of “honour crimes,” the punishment of women who break the strict code of behaviour expected from female members of Arab society. Albadeel is a cooperative effort of the following agencies: Women to Women, the Feminist Centre; the Crisis Centre Hotline for Victims of Violence; the Centre for the Aid of Sexually Abused Victims; Women against Violence; Al-Siwar, the Arab Feminist Movement in Support of Victims of Sexual Abuse; the Arab Association for Human Rights; Al-Tufula Pedagogical Centre; the Haifa Crisis Shelter, the Democratic Women�s Movement; and individual members.

AISHA – The Arab Women’s Forum
AISHA (The Arab Women’s Forum):- is a network of democratic Arab women organizations established in December 1992. Arab Organization for Human Rights
The Arab Organization for Human Rights lists its aims as follows: 1) to call for respect of human rights and fundamental freedoms of all citizens and residents of the Arab world; 2) to defend any individual whose human rights are subjected to violations which are contrary to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights; 3) to endeavor, regardless of political considerations, to obtain release of detained or imprisoned persons, seeking relief and assistance for persons whose freedom is restricted in any way or who are subject to coercion of any kind because of their beliefs and political convictions, or for reasons of race, sex, color, or language; 4) to protest in cases where a fair trial is not guaranteed; 5) to provide legal assistance where necessary and possible; 6) to call for improvements in conditions of prisoners of conscience; and 7) to work for the amnesty of persons sentenced for political reasons. Arab Women’s Solidarity Association
The Arab Women’s Solidarity Association was founded in Egypt in 1982. It was established by a group of 120 women who agreed that the struggle for the liberation of Arab people and freedom from economic, cultural and media domination cannot be separated from the liberation of Arab women. By 1985, AWSA had 3,000 members internationally and was granted consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations as an Arab non-governmental organization (UN ECOSCO). As an international non-profit organization, AWSA promotes Arab women’s active participation in social, economic, cultural, and political life.

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (EMHRN) is a network of human rights organisations based in more than 20 countries from the Euro-Mediterranean region. The Ibn Rushd Fund is a non-governmental organization based in Germany. The Founders of the Fund are mainly of Arabic origin and live in Germany. NISSA
NISAA offers women in the Arab World the opportunity to exchange experiences and information on gender specific topics in order to intensify their cooperation among each other. NISAA is also provides a means to enter into and enhance the dialogue between women in the Arab world as well as women in other parts of the world. NISAA is a regional project of the Arab Women’s Forum, AISHA.
