Language Biomarker Lab (LaBL)

What We Do

A biomarker serves as a measurable indicator of an organism’s physiological and mental conditions. The Language Biomarker Lab (LaBL) utilizes advances in natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence (AI) to discover ways in which language language may serve as an indicator of health and cognitive processing. Our research primarily focuses on the semantics of language, the digital phenotyping of mental illnesses such as psychosis, the study of neurodegenerative diseases including Primary Progressive Aphasia and Alzheimer’s, and the mechanisms of causal and future thinking.
