As one of the final steps in our adoption of Alma, earlier this morning we initiated the switch from SFX to an Alma-based solution for managing and discovering eJournals content. Alma and our new Alma-driven discoverE (Primo) replace the functionality previously provided by SFX and the ejournals website, respectively. As of today, E-Resources staff across the Libraries have begun notifying vendors to update their data. For more information about the change, including screenshots, see the Library blog:
What patrons will see: the ejournals.emory.edu website URL now redirects to the discoverE (Primo) eJournals A-Z interface. Links to journals and articles that were previously created or managed by SFX also now redirect to our new Alma-driven “Services Page” within discoverE.
For website owners: Website links to eJournals should continue to function without interruption or change required. Library website searches have also been updated to send search queries to the new Primo eJournals searchbox.
For library staff: Core Systems is working with Reserves staff and the Blackboard team to identify links created for online courses that may need to be updated.
To report issues and questions regarding ejournals, please continue to use the ask ejournals list at askejournals [at] listserv [dot] emory [dot] edu
Finally, as we enter the next two weeks with holiday schedules, many library service desks will have reduced hours and staffing. The Core Systems team will continue to monitor Alma and Primo issues reporting by FAWG members during days that the University is officially open. During the holidays, priority will be given to issues that have widespread impact on patrons.
Thanks again to everyone for your feedback, encouragement, and ideas.
