John Bohannon believes that bad PowerPoint presentations are “a serious threat to the global economy.” He says that poor use of PowerPoint gives the illusion of competence, simplicity, and understanding. Wouldn’t a presentation go over much better if it were delivered as a dance?

In his Ted bio, Bohannon is described as “a biologist and journalist” who, among many other things, runs the ‘Dance Your Ph.D.’ contest for the journal Science. Dance Your Ph.D. is an international competition for scientists to explain their research with interpretive dance. Seriously.

The following Ted Talk, the latest in my series of Wade’s Favorite Ted Talks, offers a fascinating yet mirthful look into ways of breaking through the traditional mores of business communication.
