Announcing Emory Box, a secure cloud storage tool that fosters sharing and collaboration on any device.

Emory Box is a simple-to-use, hosted offering that is currently available to all Emory students, staff, and faculty. If you are already familiar with Box, this application offers the same file sharing and collaboration you are familiar with, but tailored for Emory. There is no special password needed: simply log in at http://emory.box.com.

Once in Emory Box, users can begin storing their projects or other collaborations into an intuitive folder structure. Emory Box supports most popular desktop, laptop, and mobile platforms to allow access to documents from almost anywhere.

Collaboration is in real time, with multiple users able to seamlessly edit documents simultaneously using Emory Box’s clever avatar-based user interface. Users can maintain visibility into work items, gathering feedback and easily sharing information with peers.

Typical uses of Emory Box include:

  • Meetings: collaborate on documents simultaneously without needing a time-consuming document approval process
  • Project Design: track a variety of projects and client feedback in real time through information sharing
  • Personal Storage: centralize and access personal work content on multiple devices in a secure environment

An addition to the Box service is Box Notes, which is a place to comment and collaborate on ideas. True working documents can be written and edited in real time by multiple users.
