Matthew was captain of the Hanover varsity tennis team.

Matthew Strandmark comes to Emory after a year as the E. Lindle Craig Fellow and Graduate Course Assistant at Indiana University, Bloomington. As the MARBL Research Library Fellow, he will be doing community outreach for MARBL.

In addition to his most recent work, Matthew has worked in the Indiana University Library since 2012, including roles as a private archival researcher, an Open Folklore Project intern, a reference assistant, a digital project archivist, and a web migration assistant. He also designed historic guided tours for the city  of Bloomington, IN.

A native of Madison, Indiana, Matthew has a bachelor of arts degree in history and political science from Hanover College in Hanover, IN and a master of history and library science degree from Indiana University at Bloomington.

Matthew is an avid tennis player, serving as team captain of the Hanover College Varsity Tennis Team and earning all-conference honors in 2009, 2010, and 2011. He also enjoys golf, painting, reading, and hiking. He and his wife Allie just celebrated their one-year anniversary.
