Caspian Zwemer Koeser was born at 5:37 a.m. on September 14, 2014 at Northside Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 23 inches long. He is the first child of Rebecca Sutton Koeser (UIT) and her husband Greg.
According to Rebecca, “We picked the middle name first, to remember and honor Greg’s mother Jane who passed away from cancer last year – it was her maiden name, and is also a connection to Greg’s great-grandfather Samuel Zwemer, who was a missionary known as the “Apostle to Islam.”
“We then had to find a first name that worked with a middle initial Z! (That ruled out first initials like J, B, and E.) We came across the name Caspian (think Caspian Sea or Prince Caspian from the Chronicles of Narnia) and liked it – for the sound, the uniqueness, and the many possible nicknames (Cas, Casper, Ian, etc.).”
Rebecca added, “Caspian has just recently started to smile a lot, and it’s wonderful.”
