Cedrika Haynes began working in the security office of the library in January. Prior to coming to the Library, she worked for 7 months with Norred Security as a security officer on an Emory contract. She has been on campus, in one form or another, since November 2014.
Previously, Cedrika was a security contractor in Phenix City, AL and also a supervisor at a Spencer’s Gifts. “At a store like that you meet a lot of unique people,” she said.
Born in Jacksonville, FL, Cedrika moved with her family to west Georgia when she was only four years old. She was subsequently raised in Buena Vista, GA.
Cedrika is currently working on her undergraduate degree in criminal justice as Columbus State University.
She loves spending time with her family, singing in the choir at Coolspring Baptist Church, and playing and watching her favorite sport, basketball. She played basketball for Marion County High School. She also swims for fun.
“I am really enjoying the job,” said Cedrika. “It’s been a good experience so far. I could see myself being at Emory for a long time.”
