“The variety of technology available at Emory’s TechLab ensures that every day has something new to offer.” – Amelia Stagg

Amelia Stagg is a new intern and technical support specialist in Student Digital Life. She spent a year as a technology consultant in the Cox Computing Center.

Born and raised in Peoria, IL, which Amelia says is “not near Chicago but not in a cornfield,” Amelia graduated with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Emory. For her thesis, she developed a framework for evaluating in-school teen dating violence-education programs.

In her free time, Amelia enjoy doing cross stitch, cooking tasty vegan food, and maintaining her cat’s Instagram. She is also training for her first half-marathon in October. An interesting factoid: as a child, Amelia and her mother began collecting business cards. Their collection has since grown to over 10,000 business cards, including a variety of international business cards and novelty cards. Need a pet detective? She can give you Ace Ventura’s card!

“Working with the SDL team has been great. Everyone is willing to share their expertise, enabling me to learn so much over the past month,” said Amelia. “The variety of technology available at Emory’s TechLab (the space I primarily work in) ensures that every day has something new to offer. Whether it’s 3D printing or die cutting, students have plenty of space to explore their creativity in this space.”
