Alex Thomas, Software Engineer, Sr., R-WIT

Alex is an Emory alum.

Alex has been working in the Library since 2008, and has been doing a lot of work with the Fedora Commons repositories using Python, Django, and PHP. Before Emory, he worked at Ricoh where he was a back-end Java programmer.

At the Library, Alex has worked a lot with the Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) software and revamping the Slave Voyages database.

Alex has a degree in Computer Science from Emory and is also certified as a Scrum Master.

An Atlanta native, Alex loves to travel domestically, especially to Florida and South Carolina. He’s an avid reader and loves sci-fi movies.
