James can turn his home TV into a web portal.

James has been at the Library for two years as an operating systems analyst. Prior to Emory, he administered servers for PEER1, managing web-hosting for over a year.

Interestingly, James has also worked as a corporate spy. He used to work for IronMail, which was eventually bought by McAfee. He had several Fortune-500 business customers and even a foreign government and helped them monitor employees and citizenry. According to James, “I came to Emory as a form of personal penance and now I am at peace that I don’t have to do that kind of work anymore.”

James was born in Enterprise, AL and studied computer science at the University of South Alabama. He has also been PERL master level certified, among other certifications.

For fun he works on computers at home. “I’m a Linux guy, building a home entertainment system that allows you to watch YouTube on your television,” says James.

With regards to the regorg, “It’s great to be on the team!” says James.
