In June, over 70 Atlanta teams competed to create a 4-7 minute short film in the annual Atlanta 48 Hour Film Project.  At 7 p.m. on a Friday, each team drew a genre at random. Then all teams were given a character, prop and line of dialogue that had to be included in the film. At that point, the teams scrambled to write, film and edit their short in just 48 hours.

I helped produce a film that won awards for best editing, best use of line, and an audience favorite. 12 Minutes is a “mistaken identity” genre film and it was my first attempt at something of this magnitude. It was a great learning experience. I couldn’t believe what we were able to do in that short amount of time.

Kelly Bray (Integration) saw his daughter, Caroline, compete with her team from the Grady High School Drama Club. They won the award for best costuming for their fantasy genre film, The Quest, in which Caroline acted and collaborated on the script.
