Mary loves poetry, Buddhism, and German Shepherds!

Mary joins R-WIT where she will be managing the electronic Biomedical Interactive Resource Tool (eBIRT). Currently she is using a product called Symplectic Elements to help build faculty research profiles.

A fifteen-year employee at Emory, she started in the Office of Admissions for the School of Nursing and was also a business analyst on the Student Information Systems team, working on behalf of the Office of Financial Aid.

Mary is an Emory graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. She also has a Master of Computer Information Systems degree from Georgia State University.

A proud Atlanta native and graduate of Grady High School, Mary grew up about three miles from Emory.

She loves biking, gardening, and taking care of her two German Shepherds with her partner of 17 years. Mary also loves poetry. “I read years ago that ‘poets are the original systems thinkers’ and I enjoy how the lyrical nature of poetry captures the picture of a moment,” said Mary. She is exploring Buddhism and enjoys participating in the Emory-Tibet Partnership. She also has a certificate in massage therapy.
