Winship Win the Fight 5K

T-shirt design for "Winship Win the Fight 5K" race

The official t-shirt design for “Winship Win the Fight 5K” race.

Join your LITS coworkers, friends, family, neighbors on Saturday, October 5 at McDonough Field on Emory’s campus in the Run to “Win the Fight” against Cancer.

Cancer has touched our lives in one way or another. Either through family, friends, or even you may have been diagnosed with some form of cancer. Here is your opportunity to make a difference. Come out and show your team spirit and support to “Win the Fight” against cancer.

The Winship Cancer Institute is hosting a 5k run/walk and the cost is $30/$35 per person. If you want to sleep in, you are welcome to do so and still participate. Just designate when you register that you are a “Sleep-in” Warrior and you can still register as part of the team. This is a Peachtree qualifying race, and the $35 registration fee will earn you a chip.

Here is what you can do to help:

Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) has created a team. Register online for the Winship portion at this link.

Be sure to sign up as part of the LITS – Unplugged Team. Once you have registered online you will then need to log on to our site to select your shirt for LITS.

You can register your entire family and every registered participant will receive a LITS t-shirt. We want to come out en masse to show our support as a team. We need your registration and t-shirt sizes by Friday, September 6 at Noon. You can register for the race up to October 2nd, but I can’t guarantee you a LITS t-shirt.

If you are unable to attend you can help out by donating to our team to help us reach our goal as a “Sleep-In”.

Any questions, please feel free to contact me at kcomsto [at] emory [dot] edu. I look forward to seeing you at the event.
