Richard is an avid Ohio State fan.

Richard will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Library Service Desk, which includes circulation, reference, and the Learning Commons. He will also hire, train, and manage 25 student employees that run the desk. Richard is already familiar with this role as he was the evening and weekend supervisor beginning in 2011. Before coming to Emory, Richard was a circulation assistant for SCAD Atlanta.

A native of East Palestine, OH, Richard earned an undergraduate degree in Religion and Philosophy at Thiel College in Greenville, PA, then moved to Atlanta to get his Master of Theology and Ethics from Emory’s Candler School of Theology. He is also working on a Master of Library and Information Science through online courses at Valdosta State University.

Richard spends much of his free time doting on his three-year-old daughter and the McNeals have another on the way in March. He is also an avid Ohio State fan. Go Buckeyes!
