Jason Lowery is a huge Yellow Jackets fan.

Jason Lowery is the new assistant director of development for Emory Libraries and Alumni Relations. He brings to Emory a wealth of fund raising experience – most recently as the development and special events director of the Santa Fe Community Foundation in New Mexico and also as the manager of marketing and development for Sheltering Arms Early Education and Family Centers in Atlanta, the state’s oldest and largest not-for-profit early childcare center, dedicated  to high quality childcare for low income families.

A native of Hawkinsville, GA, Jason received his bachelor degree in English from Georgia State University and also studied at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Go Jackets…State Champs!). He is active in the Atlanta community with St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and the Human Rights Campaign.

Jason loves to read, travel and is a sports nut, following all Georgia Tech sports, the Falcons, the Braves, and the Hawks. He and his husband Jon (a Clemson grad) have the official Clemson/Georgia Tech fan-cave where they cheer for their teams.

“Jason’s experience and energy will be valued assets as our team continues building our development plans since the unit’s merging last summer,” said Alex Wan, director of Development and Alumni Relations. “I am ecstatic to join the Emory team,” said Jason,.”It’s a perfect fit.”
