Jason Hood, Systems Engineer II, Infrastructure

Jason Hood’s experience in aviation gave him a lifelong love for travel.

Jason Hood began working as a systems engineer on December 8, 2014 on the Windows systems team. Before coming to higher ed, Jason spent thirteen years working in the airline industry, where he rose through the ranks via a series of promotions. Starting with ASA (a subsidiary of Delta Airlines at the time), Jason began as a gate agent, then did desktop support, imaging, and Cisco router and switch installation. He soon became a senior technician, a systems administrator, and a systems engineer with a focus on flight operations. Jason also worked for a time at CNN as an Exchange administrator.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Jason graduated from Pebblebrook High School and studied networking and information systems at West Georgia Technical College. He is also a certified CommVault backup specialist.

Jason’s experience in aviation gave him a lifelong love for travel, including a recent trip to the Greek Isles. “I love to put stamps in my passport,” smiled Jason. Jason is a musician who plays bass, drums, and guitar. He is also a pilot, working toward a private pilot’s license.
