Wayne Johnson is a baseball coach.

As the newest member of the Desktop Support Team, Wayne Johnson is supporting the Winship Cancer Institute. He comes to Emory after working for seven years at Broadcom in Duluth, GA, also as a desktop consultant. In addition, Wayne spent seven years performing the same role for Fulton County Human Services.

Wayne was born in Griffin, GA, but grew up in the Atlanta area. He is a graduate of Riverdale HS and Albany State, where he received a bachelor’s degree in education. Wayne got into IT because he was always fixing computers for others. In college, he realized that computer work was going to be his future career path.

Wayne is currently a baseball coach at Adams Park in Atlanta, coaching 8-13 year olds. He has helped at several different parks in the Atlanta area. Wayne and his wife Carliss have a set of twins and a step-daughter.

“I am excited to be here,” said Wayne.
