On Fat Tuesday, the official last day of Mardi Gras, the LITS MyEmory committee hosted a social in the Jones Room of the Woodruff Library. Attendees were treated with coffee, king cake, jazz music, and fellowship, while learning about ways they can participate in the MyEmory campaign.

MyEmory is the annual employee giving program at Emory. It offers employees way to make a difference in the Emory community. Employees are encouraged to make gifts, regardless of size, in support of Emory’s programs. According to the MyEmory website, employees can “fund classroom technology, strengthen academics, fuel research, support the arts, help improve patient care, or give to any number of creative programs and purposes.”

The social also featured a raffle with Kathy Dixson winning the grand prize. The current LITS MyEmory committee includes John Bence, Amy Boucher, Julie Braun, Nydia Charles Huggins, Kim Collins, Margaret EllingsonCharles Forrest, Jason Lowery, Wade Moricle, and Alex Wan.
