The Library’s Chinese Collections Group was recently awarded as an Honorary Partner at the Overseas Libraries and Chinese Publishers High-end Forum. This forum was held during the 2016 Beijing International Book Fair and was attended by East Asian Studies librarian Guo-Hua Wang.

Wang accepted the award on behalf of Emory during a ceremony that recognized the honorary partners from all over the world by the China National Publications Import & Export Corporation (CNPIEC). CNPIEC is one of Emory’s major Chinese vendors and the Woodruff Library has partnered with them for almost 20 years.

“We have developed a great vendor-relationship due to our efficient teamwork from Chinese material selection, acquisition, and accounting,” said Wang. “This has been a real team effort over the years.” The current Chinese Collection Working Group consists of  Ruoyi Chen, Larry Frederick, Lawrence Hamblin, Myra Lovett (accounting support), and Guo-Hua Wang.

Emory is one of the five academic institutions in North America that received this award. The other four were: Harvard University, the University of Toronto, Ohio State University, and the University of California-Berkeley.
